What we collect
Order information
When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and payment information. Payment data is processed by Stripe — we never store your card number.
Account and waitlist data
If you join our waitlist, we store your email address and the date you signed up. We use this only to notify you about product launches and availability.
Usage data
We collect anonymized analytics on how you use the site (pages visited, time on page, referral source) via PostHog. This data does not identify you personally.
Cookies
We use session cookies for cart and checkout functionality, and analytics cookies for aggregate traffic measurement. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
How we use it
Fulfilling orders
Your name, email, and shipping address are used to process and ship your order, and to send you order confirmation and shipping tracking.
Communications
We email you about your order status, shipping updates, and — if you opted in — product launches and restocks. We do not sell your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Improving the site
Anonymized usage data helps us understand which content is useful and where the site can be improved. It is not tied to your identity.
Who we share it with
Service providers
We share data with Stripe (payment processing), ShipBob (fulfillment), and Resend (transactional email) as necessary to fulfill your order. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests from public authorities.
No sale of data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
Your rights
Access and deletion
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@kortco.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Opting out
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send. Transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping) cannot be opted out of while an order is active.
CASL / GDPR / CCPA
We comply with Canadian anti-spam legislation (CASL) and respect applicable data protection rights under GDPR and CCPA. If you have jurisdiction-specific requests, contact us at hello@kortco.com.
Data retention
Order records
We retain order records for 7 years as required by Canadian tax law. After this period, records are deleted.
Waitlist data
We retain waitlist email addresses until you unsubscribe or request deletion. We review and clean the list annually.
